Our Veterinarians

Dr. Virginia Ellsworth

Owner + Veterinarian

Dr. Ellsworth joined EDVC in 2005. She is originally from Louisiana but is happy to be in Texas. She received a B.S. in Biology from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport. She continued her education at LSU where she received a second B.S. in Animal Science, then received her DVM at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Dr. Ellsworth belongs to the Dallas County Veterinary Association and American Veterinary Medical Associations. Dr. Ellsworth moved to Dallas to make it possible for her husband, Sam, to attend Baylor Dental School. Dr. Ellsworth purchased EDVC from Dr. Cantrell in 2008. Dr. Ellsworth can be found on most weekends during college football season cheering for LSU. She is an avid fan! GO TIGERS!!! She and her husband enjoy being in the great outdoors and can often be found camping, hiking, biking and boating. Dr. Ellsworth has 3 children and a wonderful Great Pyrenees & German Shephard mix named Hunter and 2 feisty cats named Carrot and Sweetie.

Dr. Teresa Martin

Veterinarian

Dr. Martin was born and raised in Plano, Texas. From a very young age, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian and set off on the path to become one. After graduating from high school, she attended Texas A&M University, and received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2017. She then remained in Aggieland for her DVM, which she received in 2021. She joined the EDVC team shortly after graduation and is thrilled to be back in Dallas! She has a special interest in surgery, pocket pets, and endocrine diseases.

She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association.

In her free time, Dr. Martin enjoys singing with her church choir, playing her violin, game nights, and going country and salsa dancing. She always enjoys spending time with friends, family, and of course, all of the furry (and not so furry) creatures in her life.

Dr. Shannon Holland

Veterinarian

Dr. Holland grew up in the Dallas area. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M in 2008 and her DVM in 2014 from Texas A&M University. During her undergraduate career, she was a technician at a clinic in Richardson during the summers. She returned to the area after graduation and practiced in North Dallas before coming to EDVC in June 2016.

Dr. Holland is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) , and the Dallas County Veterinary Medicine Association (DCVMA). She enjoys dentistry, preventative medicine, and pocket pets, with a special interest in fancy rats.

Dr. Holland enjoys running and racing, camping, and reading. She always enjoys spending time with her husband, their two daughters, their Australian Shepherd, Vixen, and their three rats.

Dr. Lisa Molidor

Veterinarian

Dr. Molidor graduated from Texas A&M in 1981 with a BS in Biomedical Science, followed by her DVM degree in 1985. Following graduation, she and her husband (a Navy pilot), moved to Virginia where she started her career and family of two daughters. For the next 22 years, being a military spouse, Dr. Molidor was able to practice veterinary Medicine in different regions of the country: California, Virginia, and Washington D.C. This enabled her to gain experience in various aspects of veterinary medicine, such as dentistry, surgery, and dermatology.

When her husband retired from the Navy, they moved back home to Texas to be closer to family. Dr. Molidor practiced as a relief veterinarian in the Plano area, including the Emergency Animal Clinic of Collin County. She became an associate at Custer McDermott Animal Hospital in 2004, but continued with relief work part time.

In February 2014, being empty nesters, Dr. Molidor and her husband moved to East Dallas to enjoy the White Rock Lake area. On April 1, she became an associate at East Dallas Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Molidor has volunteered for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Canine Companions for Independence, The Turning Point (Collin County Rape Crisis), the Plano Clarinet Choir, Frisco Orchestra, New Life Symphony Orchestra, the Plano Community Band, and Prince of Peace Catholic Community. She has two dogs (Wally and Moby) and two cats (Lumpy and Muffin).

Dr. Ken Cantrell

Doctor Emeritus

Dr. Cantrell started East Dallas Veterinary Clinic in October, 1972. It began in a small office space in a multi-tenant shopping center. He has practiced at the same intersection of Lakeland and Ferguson since that date. The current clinic was relocated in 1982 to a new facility built next door to the old location and the Clinic has enjoyed two physical expansions since then.

In January of 2008 Dr. Cantrell sold the practice to Dr. Ellsworth. He is looking forward to spending more time with his family and pursuing his many hobbies, in particular fly fishing.

After serving in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corp from 1969-1971, he worked in group practice in South Oak Cliff prior to establishing his East Dallas Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Cantrell graduated from Texas A&M University with B.S. and DVM degree in 1969.

He has been a career-long member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)Texas Veterinary Association (TVMA) and Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association (DCVMA). He served on the Board of Directors of the TVMA for six years, and has served as President and in various other capacities of the DCVMA. He has also been a member of the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice  since its inception 25 years ago. To maintain membership in the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice, 50 hours of approved continuing education per year are required. Dr. Cantrell also serves on the Development Council at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University. Dr. Cantrell is also licensed in New Mexico.

In addition to his many professional affiliations, Dr. Cantrell serves on the Board of Directors for the Ferguson Road Initiative. This is a neighborhood group established to promote the revitalization of the Ferguson Road corridor in East Dallas and has been very active in working for the betterment of this beautiful East Dallas thoroughfare.

Dr. Cantrell is an avid fly-fisherman and ties his own flies. He is currently owned by his wife and his wonderful dog, Scout, who make fantastic fishing buddies.

Fran Meredith

Practice Manager, CVPM

Fran has been reunited with EDVC since 2013. She originally joined us as a Relief Veterinary Assistant in 2008. Shortly after, she married her amazing husband, Franklin, moved to Delaware for 4 years and has since returned to Dallas. Fran has been in the Veterinary field since 1999 and finds great joy in caring for animals as well as educating their owners.

When Fran is not working, she enjoys spending time with her 2 amazing children, trying new restaurants with her awesome husband and working in the community.

Franklin Meredith

Executive Director

Franklin Meredith is the Executive Director of East Dallas Veterinary Clinic PLLC, where he oversees business operations including vendor relations, human resources, marketing, community partnerships, facility management, and operational support. Known for his leadership and ability to build strong professional relationships, Meredith has established himself as a well-rounded professional focused on organizational growth and community engagement.

Born in East Orange, New Jersey, Franklin was raised alongside his siblings George Meredith Jr. (deceased), Dr. Alex Meredith, Todd Meredith, Sonya Gaines, and Gregg Ross. He currently resides in Dallas with his wife, Francesca Meredith-CVPM, and their two children, Franklin Jr. and Olivia.

Meredith graduated from DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Texas, in 1999 and began his career in event operations with L.T.J Ventures, helping produce the well-known Dallas entertainment series “First Friday.” He later attended Texas A&M University–Commerce before transferring to Delaware State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management (2006) and a Master’s degree in Sports Administration with a concentration in Leadership Development (2009).

His career spans sports, higher education, marketing, government and organizational leadership. Meredith served with the Wilmington Blue Rocks, an affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, and later worked at Delaware State University where he was named Director of the Year in 2012. He later served as General Manager of Williams Communications LLC and worked in higher education administration before joining the City of Dallas District 4 Council Office as Executive Assistant in 2016 to support community initiatives.
In 2017 Meredith served as Event Coordinator III for Dallas Parks and Recreation department at Fair Park, overseeing over 100+  community programs and events held at the national historic landmark.

In 2020, Meredith joined East Dallas Veterinary Clinic, where he continues to lead the business office and strengthen community partnerships.
